Guided by Values.
Our four core values – human, reliable, inventive and smart – connect us worldwide. They show what matters to us and what we stand for.
Building on these values, we have further developed our Guiding Principles. They translate our mindset into concrete actions and make tangible how we work together in our daily work.
On this page, you will find our Guiding Principles as well as personal stories and perspectives from Team Ottobock. They show how our values are lived in everyday work and shape the way we act together.
Human. We build lasting relationships and connections.
Being human means treating each other with respect and care. We appreciate that everyone brings their own story, background and strengths. We know we’re not perfect, and that’s okay.
Belonging doesn’t happen by chance. It grows when people are seen, heard and feel safe to speak up. That’s why we take time to listen, give honest feedback, and support each other.
We stay open-minded, reflect on how we work together, and create space for growth, as individuals and as a team. We believe real connection is the foundation for everything.

Reliable.
Being reliable starts with how we show up for each other. In small moments and big decisions. That includes delivering results, communicating clearly, and being transparent when things don’t go as planned.
We take responsibility seriously and when we commit to something, we mean it. Consistency and clarity
create trust – not just with clients and partners, but also within our teams.
We want to be a place where people can rely on each other because that’s what makes great work happen.

Inventive.
Being inventive isn’t about big break-throughs alone. It’s also about trying things, exploring opportunities, and staying open to change.
We believe in the power of collaboration, where innovative ideas and different minds come together. We use technology not for its own sake, but to make things better – more useful, more thoughtful, more human.
We challenge old ways of thinking, find new solutions and keep what works. That’s how we turn ambition into real progress.

Smart.
Being smart means more than knowing things. It’s about how we use what we know. We learn from experience, from each other, and from the world around us.
We value different perspectives and believe good decisions come from asking questions, not having all the answers. We make complex things understandable, and build ecosystems that are connected, adaptive and future-ready.
Together, we create an environment where knowledge flows, people grow and meaningful change is possible.
