On the 7th of June 2016, three months to the day before the opening ceremony for the Paralympic Games in Rio, the Ottobock Science Center in Berlin is set to celebrate another grand opening. Entitled "Passion for Paralympics", the exhibition offers visitors a glimpse into the paralympic world.

The Brazilian Ambassador H.E. Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti has been invited to attend the ceremony. "Rio and all of Brazil are ready to welcome the world with open arms. The Paralympic Games are a wonderful opportunity for making inclusion a reality. Ottobock is not only involved in the Paralympic Games themselves, but is also a very important partner for Brazil," says H.E. Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti.

Visitors to the Science Center can look forward to an interactive, multimedia exhibition in which they can even compete against each other in wheelchair races. They can also find out more about the paralympic athletes, technical aids and Ottobock's involvement in the Paralympic Games, where the focus is above all on the technicians. "Our technicians are the heroes behind the scenes. It is thanks to their passion and commitment that Ottobock is inseparably linked with the Paralympic Games," explains Prof. Hans Georg Näder, President & CEO of Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH.

Ottobock has been a partner of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) since 2005, collaborates with the German Association for Disabled Sports (Deutscher Behindertensportverband) and has taken part in all Paralympic Games since 1988 in Seoul. During the Games, a team consisting of nearly 80 employees provides technical support. From flat wheelchair tyres to complex prosthetic repairs, Ottobock offers its services free of charge to all of the roughly 4350 athletes alike.

The special exhibition is open from Thursday to Monday, 10am to 6pm. Admission is free.
