There is one exception for our apprenticeship/dual study programme positions: Here you can decide whether you want to apply via the job portal or send us your application by email to jobs@ottobock.de, stating the apprenticeship or dual study programme, your CV and certificates. By applying by e-mail, you automatically agree that your data will be uploaded to the job portal for further processing. You can find more information on data protection here.

If you have any further questions or would like advice, please call us during our consultation hours (Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm and Thursday from 4pm to 5pm) on +49 5527 8483399 or take advantage of the opportunity to get to know Ottobock as a company and a specific training programme through an internship.

You are welcome to apply via our job portal or alternatively simply send an informal email to jobs@ottobock.de, stating the training occupation or dual study programme, your CV and your certificates. In the second step, we will review your application and, if your application has convinced us, we will invite you to take an online aptitude test in which, for example, general knowledge or maths skills will be tested.
If your result in this test is good, an online meeting with the trainer will follow. If this step also goes well, you will receive an invitation to a selection day, which includes a personal interview, practical exercises and, of course, insights into your professional field.
We will let you know soon after the selection day whether we will offer you a apprenticeship.
In the online test, we ask about general knowledge and, for example, maths skills - so nothing that you haven't already learned at school.
On the selection day, we start with a brief personal introduction. You will then solve a task together in a group exercise before moving on to a practical exercise or an individual exercise, depending on the training occupation, and finally to an in-depth discussion / interview (if the first meeting took place online). Here you also have the opportunity to clarify any unanswered questions.
It's best to be yourself and show us your motivation and interest in the apprenticeship. You can also find out more about Ottobock in advance via Instagram, an internship or similar.
Your interview outfit should match the job description and its specific requirements - we do not have a standardised dress code.
We publish our vacancies for apprenticeships or dual study programmes one year before the start of the apprenticeship/dual study programme in August/September. As long as our vacancies are advertised, they have not yet been filled and you are welcome to apply.
For students
You can find all available internships on our job portal. There you can upload your CV and cover letter and apply directly online (if possible at least 3 months before the planned period).
As soon as you have uploaded your application to the job portal, you will immediately receive a confirmation from us by e-mail. After reviewing your application documents, we will invite you to an interview (online or on site). Together with the specialist department, we will then discuss your application internally and get back to you.

As we offer internships and work-study programmes in different areas, we cannot give a general answer to this question. Possible prior knowledge always depends on the position and the department.
The requirements for a compulsory internship are that you are currently studying and that you provide us with official proof of a compulsory internship from your university.
For a voluntary internship, you are either currently studying or would like to gain your first professional experience between your Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.
The requirement for a thesis is that you are enrolled at a university and have to write your Bachelor's or Master's thesis and can also provide us with proof of this.
You are very welcome to apply for a thesis at Ottobock (if possible at least 3 months before the planned period). The requirement for a thesis is that you are registered at a university.
For professionals
As we fill positions in different departments, we cannot give a generalised answer to this question. Depending on the position and the department, we also welcome applications from career changers.
In an initial interview (usually online), we get to know each other. We want to give you the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the position, ask open questions and thus create a basis for orientation for you, the department and the recruiter.
In the second interview (on site or online), we will ask you to prepare a case study that includes a personal introduction and a business case. We will send you the information for the case study one week before the second interview so that you have enough time to prepare. Your contact person from Recruiting will be happy to answer any questions you may have. There is no ‘right or wrong’ in the case study. Your presentation is a basis for discussion and the starting point for the exchange in the second interview.
For positions with management responsibility, the second interview is followed by a selection day.
It's important to us that you get to know us quickly and well. By participating in the ‘Ottobock Welcome Days’, a two-day onboarding event at our headquarters that focuses on getting to know Ottobock and networking with new colleagues, we will help you become part of the Ottobock community.
You will also receive a personalised onboarding plan tailored to your needs. A mentor from the department will be at your side and support you, especially in the first few weeks. You will exchange ideas with your manager in regular feedback meetings.
