Güngör Kara joins the Additive Manufacturing Network Executive Board

The members of 'Mobility goes Additive e.V.' choose Ottobock CDO to represent the medical division

At the start of October, the members of 'Mobility goes Additive e.V.' (MGA) elected Ottobock Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Güngör Kara, to the Executive Board of the industry network for additive manufacturing. "Alongside the leading operators in 3D printing, our MGA network is shaping the future of additive manufacturing," says Kara, who will represent MGA's medical division in the future. "The rising number of materials for which the human body has high tolerance, more stable processes, faster construction speeds, and easier machine use continue to make industrial 3D printing more attractive to the medical industry."

MGA is the leading international network of companies, institutions, and research facilities involved in the development of 3D printing applications for professional use in different branches. The user-driven network is a central platform that looks into value creation potentials and process chains in additive manufacturing. It builds up specialist know-how, shares knowledge, and develops innovative products. "Additive manufacturing still offers great possibilities for industrial use. Additional materials and increasingly more efficient machines are opening up new application fields and therefore business models," says Güngör Kara. "At Ottobock we mainly produce orthoses at present, as well as components for prostheses and exoskeletons by means of additive manufacturing. We continue to increase the number of these applications."
